{"id":81992,"date":"2019-10-18T02:21:24","date_gmt":"2019-10-17T20:51:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=81992"},"modified":"2019-10-18T02:21:25","modified_gmt":"2019-10-17T20:51:25","slug":"org-seeks-action-over-civilians-death","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2019\/10\/18\/org-seeks-action-over-civilians-death\/","title":{"rendered":"Org seeks action over civilian&#8217;s death"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>ITANAGAR, Oct 17:<\/strong> The North East Human Rights Organization (NEHRO) has urged the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) to take appropriate action over the recent killing of a civilian, Minliam Namet, in Tirap district, allegedly by Assam Rifles jawans.<br \/>\nCondemning the killing, the NEHRO also sought to draw the government&#8217;s attention to the &#8220;atrocities being faced by the people of Tirap, Changlang and Longding districts due to the imposition of the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act (AFSPA).&#8221;<br \/>\nStating that there has been &#8220;repeated atrocities by defence forces,&#8221; the organisation requested the government to take &#8220;strong corrective measure, so that such unwarranted incident doesn&#8217;t occur in the days to come.&#8221;<br \/>\n&#8220;The entire TCL region has been declared as disturbed area.
