{"id":82472,"date":"2019-10-22T01:19:54","date_gmt":"2019-10-21T19:49:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=82472"},"modified":"2019-10-22T01:19:54","modified_gmt":"2019-10-21T19:49:54","slug":"idd-prevention-day-observed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2019\/10\/22\/idd-prevention-day-observed\/","title":{"rendered":"IDD Prevention Day observed"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<strong>NAHARLAGUN, Oct 21:<\/strong> Global Iodine Deficiency Disorder (IDD) Prevention Day was observed throughout the state on Monday with a host of activities carried out in different districts to create awareness on the importance of consuming iodized salt to prevent iodine deficiency disorders.<br \/>\nIn Naharlagun, a seminar themed &#8216;A day with salt traders&#8217; was organised, during which salt traders were advised to stock iodized salt packets in dry, covered places, away from moisture, and to sell only iodized salt to the consumers.<br \/>\nDuring the seminar, which was chaired by Health Services Director Dr M Lego, State Epidemiologist Dr L Jampa, Civil Supplies Deputy Director (DD) CW Chaklap, Food Safety DD UK Mitra, Food Safety Officer L Singpho, and IDD SPO PN Mazumdar spoke on matters related to different aspects of the National IDD Control Programme.<br \/>\nIDD Technical Assistant Tom Koyu and IDD SA Ngurang Takar also spoke.
