{"id":84819,"date":"2019-11-14T02:08:09","date_gmt":"2019-11-13T20:38:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=84819"},"modified":"2019-11-14T02:08:09","modified_gmt":"2019-11-13T20:38:09","slug":"kaso-urges-people-to-obey-traffic-rules","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2019\/11\/14\/kaso-urges-people-to-obey-traffic-rules\/","title":{"rendered":"Kaso urges people to obey traffic rules"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<strong>ITANAGAR, Nov 13:<\/strong> Local MLA Techi Kaso appealed to the people to obey traffic rules for maintaining discipline on the roads.<br \/>\nAddressing a traffic awareness meeting at Kankernallah in Naharlagun on Wednesday, Kaso rued that in spite of organizing several awareness meetings in the past and measures taken to reduce the traffic woes, there has not been any major improvement in this aspect.<br \/>\n&#8220;The traffic congestion can be minimized only when we promise to follow the rules on the road in truesense,&#8221; he said.<br \/>\nThe MLA cited the examples of Sikkim and Mizoram, where one can hardly see traffic jams despite the National Highway passes through the city.<br \/>\nKaso said state capital will have good roads connecting every sector and villagein the next 3 to 4 years, for which he sough cooperation from all. He also assured that every government secondary and higher secondary schools in the capital will have better infrastructure in the next couple of years.<br \/>\nAdditional District Magistrate Talo Potom said that the traffic officials should be able to work in adverse weather condition and should maintain work culture to improve the traffic scenario.<br \/>\nHe also stressed the importance of traffic engineering, traffic regulation and strict enforcement of traffic rules.<br \/>\nAdditional Capital SP Harsh Indora also urged the citizens to follow the traffic rules and regulations.<br \/>\nDTO C Wangsu informed that 51 cases of road accidents were registered within the jurisdiction of Banderdewa, Nirjuli and Naharlagun police stations last year with 19 fatal and 32 minor injury cases.<br \/>\nInforming thatmost of the accident cases involved two-wheelers among the students, Wangsu advised the students to follow traffic rules.<br \/>\nHe urged everyone to make combined effort and shoulder the responsibility to guide the novice teen drivers and motorcyclists.<br \/>\nAAPPTF vice president Tagio Sonam also stressed on the need to follow proper traffic, rules like use of seatbelt, helmet etc.<br \/>\nThe Arunachal Bullet Club also advocated for wearing of helmet, shoes etc while riding two wheelers.<br \/>\nTransport Director Tage Tado, Naharlagun CO Laxmi Dodum and Yupia DTO Yajum Lombi Tana attended the programme.<br \/>\nThe programme was organised by the Office of the District Transport Officer, Capital Complex in collaboration with Itanagar Municipal Council and AAPPTF.
