{"id":8673,"date":"2017-11-15T01:11:55","date_gmt":"2017-11-14T19:41:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=8673"},"modified":"2017-11-15T01:11:55","modified_gmt":"2017-11-14T19:41:55","slug":"world-diabetes-day-observed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2017\/11\/15\/world-diabetes-day-observed\/","title":{"rendered":"World Diabetes Day observed"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>ITANAGAR, Nov 14:<\/strong> The state along with rest of the world observed World Diabetes Day by organizing diabetes awareness and health check up camps.<br \/>\nThis year, the theme for World Diabetes Day was \u201cWomen and Diabetes&#8211;Our right to a healthy future\u201d.<br \/>\nThe District NCD Cell, Yupia organized a health screening camp at Balijan CHC, where around 210 persons received free health checkups and 39 of them were found to be obese, 25 overweight, 14 suspected with diabetes and 40 with hypertension.<br \/>\nAn awareness campaign on NTCP, NIDDCP, NPPCD and NPHCE was also organized.<br \/>\nDistrict Hospital Tawang also conducted a free health screening camp at New Market, wherein more than 200 people were screened for diabetes.<br \/>\nAddressing the gathering, EAC Lobsang Tsetan spoke on how performing physical activity on regular basis may help prevent the disease.<br \/>\nAs part of the programme, outreach activities were also organized at CHC Jang and Lumla.<br \/>\nA painting competition on &#8216;Non Communicable Diseases&#8217; was also conducted at Khandro Dawa Sangmo Nursing School.<br \/>\nThe day was also observed at District Hospital, Seppa.<br \/>\nAround 300 people were screened for diabetes and 31 of them were found to be suffering from high blood sugar levels. The screening camps were conducted at the District Hospital and Deputy Commissioner&#8217;s office premises.<br \/>\nDistrict Programme Officer, NPCDCS Kopi Gyadi highlighted the signs and symptoms of diabetes and its preventive measures, while DMO Kaya Lapung advised people to do regular physical exercise and have proper diet to keep blood sugar levels under control.<br \/>\nDistrict Health Society (NPCDCS), Tezu organized interschool painting competition, seminar and diabetes screening camp as part of World Diabetes Day.<br \/>\nWhile the interschool painting competition was held on topic &#8216;Diabetes and Symptoms&#8217; at Amik Matai Vidya Mandir School, a seminar on &#8220;Women and Diabetes&#8221; was held at the General Hospital, followed by a free screening camp.<br \/>\nBMI measurements, RBS reading and blood pressure were also checked in the camp.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ITANAGAR, Nov 14: The state along with rest of the world observed World Diabetes Day by organizing diabetes awareness and health check up camps.
