{"id":87657,"date":"2019-12-13T01:52:44","date_gmt":"2019-12-12T20:22:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=87657"},"modified":"2019-12-13T01:52:44","modified_gmt":"2019-12-12T20:22:44","slug":"legal-literacy-prog-for-gbs-underway","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2019\/12\/13\/legal-literacy-prog-for-gbs-underway\/","title":{"rendered":"Legal literacy prog for GBs underway"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>TAWANG, Dec 12:<\/strong> Gaon buras and gaon buris of Tawang and West Kameng districts are participating in a two-day &#8216;legal literacy-cum-training programme&#8217; which got underway here on Thursday.<br \/>\nOrganised by the Arunachal Pradesh State Legal Services Authority (APSLSA), the programme, themed &#8216;Synergy between customary practices and formal laws&#8217;, is being conducted under the Access to Justice &#8211; North East and Jammu &amp; Kashmir project.<br \/>\nIn his inaugural address, APSLSA Member Secretary Budi Habung enumerated the importance of the judiciary, the functioning of the GB institution, the Assam Frontier Regulation Act, 1945, and other subjects.<br \/>\nTawang DC Sang Phuntsok highlighted &#8220;the importance of peace and order in the society for better development,&#8221; and advised all institutions to work in coordination in this regard.<br \/>\nSP B Kamduk said, &#8220;The GB institution is a neutral institution and works as a mediator between the villagers and the administration.&#8221; He stressed on cooperation between the police and the administration in maintaining peace and order in the district.<br \/>\nTawang District Legal Services Authority Secretary Damge Niri was also present at the inaugural function.
