{"id":88574,"date":"2019-12-22T00:46:12","date_gmt":"2019-12-21T19:16:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=88574"},"modified":"2019-12-22T00:46:12","modified_gmt":"2019-12-21T19:16:12","slug":"sensitization-prog-on-nafcc-project-held","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2019\/12\/22\/sensitization-prog-on-nafcc-project-held\/","title":{"rendered":"Sensitization prog on NAFCC project held"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<strong>LANGDUNG, Dec 21:<\/strong> The environment &amp; forest department&#8217;s climate change cell on Saturday organized a sensitization programme on the project, &#8216;Addressing climate change vulnerabilities &amp; rejuvenation of Papum-Poma rivers and its springs&#8217;, which has been taken up under the National Adaption Fund for Climate Change (NAFCC), at Langdung village in Papum Pare district.<br \/>\nThe NAFCC is a central sector scheme, and its overall aim is to support concrete adaptation activities which mitigate the adverse effects of climate change. The activities under this scheme are implemented in a project mode.<br \/>\nDoimukh MLA Tana Hali Tara requested the public to cooperate with the department and the project implementing agencies to ensure smooth implementation of the project &#8220;as this has a long-term vision for conservation and sustenance for livelihood dependent on water.&#8221;<br \/>\nEnvironment &amp; Forest Deputy Director D Dohu Robin made a PowerPoint presentation, highlighting the project&#8217;s goals, its objectives, activities and outcomes, and sought cooperation from the public in making the first project under the NAFCC in Arunachal a success.<br \/>\nHe also cleared doubts and apprehensions raised by the villagers about the project activities.<br \/>\nRepresentative from the soil &amp; water conservation department, Nabam Chuma, also spoke.<br \/>\nSoil &amp; Water Conservation Director Joram Puppa, Deputy Mission Director (Sub-Mission Agro-forestry &amp; Bamboo Mission) Dr G Murtem, and villagers from Langdung, Byate, Bam, Inderjulli, Rupung, Yasumso and Kanebung attended the programme.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>LANGDUNG, Dec 21: The environment &amp; forest department&#8217;s climate change cell on Saturday organized a sensitization programme on the project, &#8216;Addressing climate change vulnerabilities &amp; rejuvenation of Papum-Poma rivers and its springs&#8217;, which has been taken up under the National Adaption Fund for Climate Change (NAFCC), at Langdung village in Papum Pare district.
