{"id":93843,"date":"2020-02-18T01:39:42","date_gmt":"2020-02-17T20:09:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=93843"},"modified":"2020-02-18T01:39:42","modified_gmt":"2020-02-17T20:09:42","slug":"trg-for-fish-farmers-conducted","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2020\/02\/18\/trg-for-fish-farmers-conducted\/","title":{"rendered":"Trg for fish farmers conducted"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Correspondent<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>PASIGHAT, Feb 17:<\/strong> About 30 progressive farmers from Ledum village participated in a training programme on &#8216;fish seed production and hatchery management for progressive farmers&#8217;, organised here by the East Siang KVK on Monday.<br \/>\nCollege of Horticulture &amp; Forestry (CHF) Dean, Dr BN Hazarika, who inaugurated the training, said the institutions set up under the ICAR &#8220;are taking a comprehensive plan to train the rural farmers to improve their living standard through agriculture and allied activities.&#8221;<br \/>\nStating that the central government has adopted an integrated farming system to double the farmers&#8217; income by 2022, Dr Hazarika suggested to the participants to adopt pisciculture and other farming activities &#8220;with commercial view.&#8221;<br \/>\nProfessor of PGC (Fishery), Borapani, Dr Mahest Pathak spoke on the benefits of fish farming in the region, and urged the farmers to take up pisciculture on a commercial basis to meet the demand for fish in the local markets.<br \/>\nFishery and plant protection scientists educated the farmers on scientific rearing of catfish and carps, hatchery preparation, pond management, and fish feeding.<br \/>\nThe farmers were later taken on a visit to the &#8216;fish-cum-duck and fish-cum-fowl culture&#8217; in the CHF premises.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Correspondent PASIGHAT, Feb 17: About 30 progressive farmers from Ledum village participated in a training programme on &#8216;fish seed production and hatchery management for progressive farmers&#8217;, organised here by the East Siang KVK on Monday.
