{"id":93984,"date":"2020-02-19T02:49:01","date_gmt":"2020-02-18T21:19:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=93984"},"modified":"2020-02-19T02:49:01","modified_gmt":"2020-02-18T21:19:01","slug":"joint-consultative-committee-to-meet-on-offspring-issue","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2020\/02\/19\/joint-consultative-committee-to-meet-on-offspring-issue\/","title":{"rendered":"Joint consultative committee to meet on offspring issue"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Staff Reporter<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>ITANAGAR, Feb 18:<\/strong> A joint consultative committee is scheduled to meet on 19 February to discuss the issue relating to issuing of APST certificates and other benefits to offspring of APST mothers and non-APST fathers and suggest a policy framework in this regard for consideration by the government.<br \/>\nAddressing a press conference here on Tuesday, All Arunachal Pradesh Students&#8217; Union general secretary Tobom Dai reminded the state government of its assurance to bring a law on the offspring issue in the upcoming budget session, scheduled to begin on 2 March.<br \/>\n&#8220;We hope that the committee does not adopt delay tactics in bringing in the law and immediately brings the offspring law in the budget session,&#8221; Dai said.<br \/>\nHe said the union has submitted several representations to the state government, with the last one submitted on 16 December, 2019, and added that &#8220;the CM had assured that a law would be brought in the upcoming budget session.&#8221;<br \/>\nThe state government had constituted the joint consultative committee on 13 January, with Women &amp; Child Development Minister Alo Libang as its chairman.
