The waiver will cost the landlady Rs 90,000.<br \/>\nDada, a widow, made the decision to waive off the rent for April after witnessing the losses her shopkeeper tenants are incurring because of the lockdown.<br \/>\n&#8220;I made the decision after seeing their (shopkeepers) situation. They have families, too,&#8221; she said. &#8220;I made the decision on humanitarian ground.&#8221;<br \/>\nShe said she considers it unethical to ask for rent in these trying times.<br \/>\n&#8220;It is such a relief to know that our landlady has decided to waive off a month&#8217;s rent. In this hour of crisis, it is a huge relief for us,&#8221; said Rakesh Tareek, who runs &#8216;Tuskar&#8217; hardware store in Seppa.<br \/>\nAnother trader, Luna Ram, who deals in hardware and utensils, also expressed gratitude to Dada for her noble gesture.<br \/>\n&#8220;There has been no business this whole month. Our businesses have been totally shattered because of the lockdown. Our landlady&#8217;s decision is indeed appreciable,&#8221; he said.<br \/>\nChief Minister Pema Khandu has also thanked Dada for her kind gesture towards her tenants.
