{"id":9837,"date":"2017-11-24T00:08:00","date_gmt":"2017-11-23T18:38:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=9837"},"modified":"2017-11-24T00:08:00","modified_gmt":"2017-11-23T18:38:00","slug":"cm-gives-green-signal-for-mechukha-district","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2017\/11\/24\/cm-gives-green-signal-for-mechukha-district\/","title":{"rendered":"CM gives green signal for Mechukha district"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>MECHUKHA, Nov 23:<\/strong> Chief Minister Pema Khandu gave the green signal for creation of Mechukha district, with Tato proposed to be the district headquarters, as per local demands.<br \/>\nAttending the inaugural day of the Adventure@Mechukha festival on Thursday, the Chief Minister also informed that administrative approval has been granted for district creation.<br \/>\nHe appreciated the local MLA and the administration for the meticulous groundwork taking interests of all five tribes inhabiting the new proposed district.<br \/>\nCategorizing Arunachal into two economic zones &#8211; foothills and upper region, the Chief Minister said that the former due to its proximity to Assam and ease of connectivity have high scope for economic development.<br \/>\nHe said the people of upper region, such as, from Tawang, Ziro, Mechukha, however, have to depend on tourism as its primary economic activity and said the state government is taking important steps in development of this sector.<br \/>\nHe also promised to bring in fixed wing aircraft service for Mechukha soon.<br \/>\nHe thanked PHED Minister Bamang Felix for the water supply projects at Monigong Township and for the newly upgraded EAC headquarters at Tato, the foundation stone for which was earlier laid by him.<br \/>\nHe also had laid foundation stone for construction of a new 150-metre permanent steel bridge over river Yargapchu to connect Singbir village on his arrival on Thursday.<br \/>\nThe said bridge is being sponsored under CRF and will be executed through PWD.<br \/>\nIn his speech, Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein said that Mechuka has always been in disadvantageous situation due to connectivity issues, yet it has been able to promote itself successfully.<br \/>\nHe assured to support for Mechuka&#8217;s development at all levels. &#8220;The beauty of Mechukha is second to none and it must be promoted&#8221;, he said.<br \/>\nPD Sona in his welcome speech said that Mechukha has endured difficulties for years due to its remoteness and inaccessibility.
