NAMSAI, 10 Feb: Chief Secretary Dharmendra was apprised of the status of the aspirational district programme (ADP) during a review meeting attended by all HoDs and officers of the Namsai district administration here on Thursday.
Stating that “the education sector is yet to improve post Covid,” the CS urged the DC to “curate plans to improve the education scenario and learning outcome.”
“Education sector needs intervention. The quality of education being imparted needs to be assessed, for which expert opinion may be sought from specialised organisations,” he suggested.
Dharmendra also took stock of the progress of the ‘amrit sarovar’ sites and other developmental projects in the district.
Acknowledging the scope for improving the veterinary sector, he urged the DVO to “organise the sector.”
Responding to information regarding shortage of human resource in the district, the CS assured to “discuss and endorse the matter for proper solution.”
Namsai DC CR Khampa highlighted the shortcomings and problems being faced in the district. The CS was apprised also of the infrastructure and human resource gap in the medical, veterinary, and other sectors.
DPO Dr K Sharma presented a brief on the NITI Aayog’s ADP, and informed that “the district has consistently performed well across all basic parameters of ADP.”
Speaking about the education sector, he said that, “to build competitiveness among students, regular Olympiads are being organised in schools.”
He gave assurance that “a letter will be written to Piramal Foundation to assess the progress of learning outcome in schools.” (DIPRO)
