ITANAGAR, 2 Aug: Minister for agri. and allied Tage Taki has expressed dismay over the slow progress in the implementation of the ‘Atma Nirbhar Yojana’ schemes under the agriculture, horticulture, animal husbandry & veterinary and fisheries departments during 2022-23 and called upon the district officers and the banks to establish better coordination for timely sanction and implementation of the scheme.
He said this during a review meeting of ‘Atma Nirbhar Yojana’ programme which was attended by advisor to minister for agri. and allied Gabriel D. Wangsu, agri. and AHV commissioner Bidol Tayeng, secretary (horti.) Koj Rinya, agri. director Anong Lego, horti. director Narang Tani, AHV director Tachi Taku, fisheries director Joyshil Taba and 20 senior bank officers from SBI, Lead Bank, AP Cooperative Apex Bank Ltd. and AP Rural Bank here on Tuesday last.
The minister further called upon the officers to attend to the issues at the district level and expedite the implementation of the scheme. “Atma Nirbhar Yojana is an ambitious programme of the state government, which intends to increase the income of farmers and thus, all officials should implement the scheme with dedication in the interest of the farmers,” he added.
In the meeting, the district officers pointed out the hurdles being faced by them in the district with the banks while, the senior bank officials agreed to look into the issues and resolve all the issues with their bank branches to ensure timely sanctioning of all the schemes.
A timeline for implementation of the scheme for 2023-24 was also finalized and all the district and the banks officers were asked to stick to the timeline so that the schemes can be implemented within the financial year and according to the season of the crops.
