BANA, 16 Aug: An Eco-Adventure Park and Nature Interpretation-cum-Training Centre was inaugurated here in East Kameng district by minister for environment and forest, CC, WRD and sports and youth affairs Mama Natung on Tuesday last amidst the presence of PCCF (E,F and CC) Jitendra Kumar, APCCF (conservation), CAMPA CEO, East Kameng DC, SP and Bana ZPM.
Seppa Forest Division DFO Ankit Kumar has in a release informed that the Seppa Forest Division, through the project envisions to spread awareness on conservation of nature and wildlife among the young keeping the theme of ‘Jungle Book’ by Rudyard Kipling in mind.
“Through Nature Interpretation-cum-Training Centre, we intend to inculcate the spirit of creative learning and knowledge-sharing among the visitors. This centre, to be called Bana Bhawan, can be used for training and capacity building sessions on various domains such as art and craft, music, dance, theatre, self-defense, disaster response, eco-restoration and others,” the DFO added.
He further informed that the centre will also serve as a platform for advanced learning and building scientific temper among the visitors. “Additionally, book shelves have been built to stock information on our planet, people, space, nature, history, culture and like. These books will be available at the NIC for public reading,” informed the DFO.
