ITANAGAR, Mar Apr 2: The All Kamle District Students’ Union (AKDSU) has served a week’s ultimatum to Chief Minister Pema Khandu, seeking his intervention for allocation of fund for maintenance work on the Ziro-Daporijo stretch of the Trans-Arunachal Highway (TAH).
The union alleged that the said stretch of the highway has been left out of the maintenance work being initiated by the state government.
Out of Rs 30 crore allocated for the maintenance of the Potin-Pangin section of the TAH, the PWD (highway) issued an NIT for maintenance of the Pai-Pine Grove road, the Daporijo-Dumporijo road, and the Bame-Pangin road, and ignored the Ziro-Daporijo stretch, the union alleged.
It requested the chief minister to release fund for the maintenance of the said stretch, and warned that if its demand is not met within a week, it would initiate a ‘rigorous democratic movement’ against the state government.
