Review the exam calendar

Editor,
Conducting the APPSCE in December would clash with the preparation for Banking and SSC mains exams. Some argue that preparing for these exams will enhance a candidate’s preparation level for CSAT. However, I would like to remind them that CSAT is a qualifying paper, while Banking and SSC exams involve higher-level Logical Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, General English, and computer knowledge that demand both speed and accuracy.
Furthermore, comparing these exams to the APPSCE is not appropriate. The preparation for the mains exams of APPSCE and UPSC CSE does not require high-speed math or reasoning but focuses on in-depth knowledge of Polity, Economy, Geography, History, and Ethics, along with the ability to analyze questions and provide appropriate answers. PSC mains exams require proficiency in answer writing rather than speed in math or reasoning.
Poor unemployed candidates may not be able to prepare exclusively for the APPSC exam for three long years; they need to find alternative sources of employment. Additionally, there are other responsibilities in life beyond studying for exams.
Conducting the APPSCE around the dates of the UPSC-CSE would allow candidates from Arunachal Pradesh to prepare for both exams concurrently, potentially helping more candidates succeed in the prestigious UPSC-CSE.
Therefore, I respectfully request that the Chairman and esteemed members review the exam calendar.
