Display hoardings of sportspersons, not VIPs

Editor,
Very often we see big hoardings of CM Khandu, Chowna Mein and other dignitaries whenever any sporting event takes place in Arunachal. Are we really able to encourage and promote sportspersons of the state by displaying hoardings of dignitaries? Are our CM and other dignitaries desperate to display and promote themselves?
Shouldn’t the hoardings of players be displayed instead of the dignitaries’?
Very often our sportspersons keep winning medals at regional, national and international levels. We never see the sports authorities publicising their photos, but we only see relatives welcoming them at the railway station and the airport.
It’s high time that the government stopped wasting crores of rupees displaying VIPs’ photos in the form of hoardings. The government should instead display hoardings of medal winners and players of respective sporting events, so that the public can know our sports heroes and give them their due for their blood and sweat. Moreover, it will encourage and motivate the sportspersons to excel.
