Editor,
Through your esteemed paper, I on behalf of the residents of Jomlo Mobuk circle in Rumgong constituency of Siang district would like to request the chief minister and the MLA to direct the heads of the departments concerned to repair the dilapidated the Sipeng bridge – which was partly damaged by heavy rainfall last month – at the earliest.
This bridge plays a very important role in the livelihood of thousands of villagers of the Sirit-Siyom Banggo, Jomlo Mobuk circle, and also West Siang district. The bridge stands as a landmark that connects the Roying, Rangkop and Gaki paddy fields, which is the ‘rice basket’ of hundreds of families belonging to the area, and also lies on the way to the nearest town Aalo via Paya and Bene villages, thus helping in commuting, and also plays a pivotal role in facilitating cultural exchange, trade and commerce between the two districts.
