NAHARLAGUN, 5 Dec: Thirty-three participants, including 20 Arunachal Pradesh Civil Service (APCS) officers, with 3 ADCs and 13 police officers, underwent a two-day orientation programme on the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023, organised by the Administrative Training Institute (ATI) here from 4 to 5 December.
The programme was facilitated by advocate Nega Taying and advocate Jaya Doji, both legal aid counsels from the Arunachal Pradesh State Legal Services Authority. Their sessions focused on equipping the participants with thorough understanding of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, highlighting key amendments to the criminal law, and procedural reforms and their implications for effective law enforcement.
The training featured interactive discussions and case studies, enabling the officers to grasp the practical applications of the new legal provisions. The participants gained valuable insights into ensuring justice delivery under the reformed legal framework while addressing challenges faced in ground-level implementation.
ATI Director Pate Marik said, “This training serves as a stepping stone for implementing the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 efficiently and effectively. Such capacity-building initiatives will empower our officers to uphold the rule of law in a more robust and informed manner.”
