MEBO, 6 Dec: World Soil Day was celebrated in Mebo village in East Siang district on Thursday by the soil & water conservation (S&WC) department,rural works circle, Pasighat, along with the villagers,to raise awareness about the importance of healthy soil and to advocate sustainable soil management.
S&WD Director Joram Puppa and Soil Conservation Officer (SCO) RD Mosobi, along with Rural Works Circle SCO G Siram celebrated the day by planting fruit saplings.
Saplings and agricultural tools and implements were distributed among around 200 farmers on the occasion.
