NEW DELHI, 6 Dec: A team of the Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Women (APSCW), comprising of its Chairperson Kenjum Pakam and member Komna Moidam, participated in a National Commission for Women (NCW)-organised interactive meeting with state women commissions at the NCW office here from 5 to 6 December.
On the inaugural day, discussions focused on strengthening cooperation between the NCW and the state commissions, including collaboration in police advocacy, research and capacity building and establishing communications and mechanisms for ongoing cooperation. Discussions were also held on shared priorities for women’s welfare, consisting of gender sensitisation and POSH, complaint redressal mechanisms, and projects on women empowerment and skill development.
Day two focused on the local challenges and the needs of the SWCs while implementing policies and gaps in addressing women’s issues at the grassroots level and advancing women’s welfare through joint action and improved policies, and the way forward.
It was followed by a brief lecture on digital literacy.
