The preliminary of the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Combined Competitive Examination (APPSCCE)-2024 was conducted successfully on Sunday across Arunachal. The exam was conducted at 87 centres spread over 18 districts. After the paper leakage scam hit the state, the morale of aspirants and the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) was at an all-time low. Barring two incidents, the preliminary exam was conducted without any controversy. This will definitely boost the morale of both the commission and the aspirants. Now everybody will be waiting to see the result of the prelims.
The preliminary exam was a litmus test for the commission. Although it had conducted a few other examinations successfully, the eyes of the entire state were on the APPSCCE. The new team of the commission under its new Chairman Dr. Pradip Lingfa and Secretary Parul Gaur Mittal has put a lot of efforts to conduct free and fair examination. Their efforts deserve to be lauded. But this is just a beginning. Now the focus shifts to conducting the mains, followed by viva voce. However, the main challenge will be to conduct the APPSCCE annually. The commission has made it clear it intends to conduct examinations based on the annual calendar. If indeed it does so, it is going to change the face of the commission and also will bring back the trust of aspirants.
