ZIRO, 16 Dec: The education department of Lower Subansiri and Keyi Panyor districts organised an award ceremony under the Golden Jubilee Meritorious Students Awards initiative for meritorious students from Class 3 to 12 for the 2023-24 academic session here in Lower Subansiri district on Monday.
The selected students were awarded cash prizes, certificates and mementos.
Ziro ADC Himani Meena and DDSE Kocho Jomoh distributed the awards to the students.
Speaking on the occasion, Meena underscored the importance of quality education over quantity. She urged the parents and teachers to provide proper guidance to students to help them excel academically and personally.
The ceremony was attended by parents, guardians and various stakeholders from the education department.
The Golden Jubilee Meritorious Students Awards is a flagship initiative of the state government, aimed at fostering quality education across the state. The students are selected for the awards solely based on their academic performance from Class 3 to 12.
