DBC celebrates annual Utsav 4.0

JOLLANG, 29 Apr: The social work department of Don Bosco College (DBC) here hosted its annual day celebration, ‘Utsav 4.0’, with the theme ‘Strengthening Intergenerational Solidarity for Enduring Wellbeing’, on Tuesday.

The event brought together representatives from prominent NGOs and organisations in the Itanagar region, alumni, faculty members, and students.

The event was divided into two parts: a morning academic fest and an afternoon cultural programme. The academic fest featured a keynote session by RGU Social Work Department Assistant Professor Dr Chapiak Lowang. A panel discussion followed, comprising panellists Pallika Borkakoti, founder and head of Pragati Early Intervention Unit, Itanagar; Fr Sunny Minj, director of DBYC, Itanagar; Eddy Edward Kujur, state programme manager, NEIDA; and Ramesh Jeke, chairman, Arunachal Life Saving Foundation.

During the morning inaugural session, the department also released its newsletter, titled ‘Change-loomers’, in the presence of dignitaries.

The afternoon cultural programme celebrated diversity, inclusion and intergenerational solidarity, featuring vibrant performances. The event was graced by ANSU women’s cell general secretary Joram Minu, former ANSU art and culture secretary Techi Ani, and other guests.

“Utsav 4.0 emphasised the importance of collaborative social work practices in achieving enduring wellbeing. By bringing together stakeholders from various backgrounds and generations, the event promoted intergenerational solidarity and collective progress. The celebration showcased the department’s commitment to championing collaborative social work and its values,” the DBC informed in a release.
