Car parking issue in the capital

Editor,
Through your esteemed daily, I would like to draw the attention of the district administration of the capital to the issue of parking spaces in the market premises in Ganga area.
The market area, right from Akashdeep to RK Mission, always seems to be busy during morning hours when people come out for visiting doctors at RK Mission Hospital, and during evening hours when people usually come out for shopping for household grocery items. At these times, it is very difficult to find a parking place, especially for four wheelers, whereas the RK Mission complex and Akashdeep complex have limited parking spaces for visitors and commuters.
Further, the colony roads in and around the RK Mission area and Akashdeep complex, such as G Sector, F&G Sector and F Sector, always have roadside parking which creates obstacles to the movement of other vehicles. It also creates hurdles for school buses, gas vehicles, etc, to pass through.
In view of above, it is suggested that the authority concerned may initiate necessary directives for proper use of the multistorey car parking facility at the Arunachal Pradesh State Transport Services complex, Itanagar, which has the capacity to hold about 200 cars. The parking facility was inaugurated on 19 February by the chief minister for public use. But due to lack of awareness among the public, it is not being widely used by commuters.
Further, the authority may also restrict roadside parking in sector roads to avoid traffic congestion, and make it mandatory to park vehicles at the multistorey car parking facility at APSTS complex.
