KHONSA, 31 Mar: The Khonsa Battalion of the Assam Rifles (AR) organised a solemn wreath-laying ceremony here in Tirap district on Tuesday to pay tributes to late havildar MB Chhetri, and late havildar DK Doley, who made the supreme sacrifice in the service of the nation.
The ceremony was conducted at the battalion’s war memorial, where the commandant and all ranks of the unit laid wreaths and offered floral tributes in honour of the brave soldiers. A moment of silence was observed to remember their exceptional courage, unwavering dedication, and selfless service to the nation.
The event was marked by dignity and deep reverence, reflecting profound respect and gratitude for the supreme sacrifice made by the late havildars. The ceremony reaffirmed the enduring values of honour, duty, and sacrifice that form the bedrock of the Assam Rifles. (DIPRO)
