ITANAGAR, 31 Mar: Arunachal Pradesh’ women’s football team went down fighting 3-4 to hosts Chhattisgarh in penalty shootout in the semifinal and secured a bronze medal at the Khelo India Tribal Games.
The state’s men’s football team will be up against Chhattisgarh in the second semifinal on Wednesday at 3:30 pm, the Arunachal Pradesh Football Association (APFA) said.
The upcoming match promises to be an intense encounter as the team aims to secure a place in the final, it said.
The association stated that the performances of both teams reflect the growing strength of football at the grassroots level and highlight the importance of platforms like the Khelo India Tribal Games in nurturing emerging talent.
