DOIMUKH, Aug 23: The police here in Papum Pare district seized around 36 kgs of ganja (cannabis) during a raid conducted in and around Doimukh on Thursday.
Based on intelligence inputs, a team of Doimukh police, led by Inspector Padi Payang and ASI Niri Rama conducted the raid under the close supervision of SP Tumme Amo.
A person was arrested in this connection, and a case under the NDPS Act has been registered at the police station here.
Further investigation is going on.
When contacted, Payang said the police force has been doing its job with dedication, even with limited strength.
“We are also involving human intelligence to stop drug-peddling in the area,” he said.
