ITANAGAR, Aug 24: Following Chief Minister Pema Khandu’s announcement in his I-Day speech to constitute a Staff Selection Board (SSB), Chief Secretary Satya Gopal on Friday convened a follow-up meeting here with commissioners and secretaries in this regard.
The CS asked the HoDs concerned to conduct recruitment of Group C staff only through the SSB and withdraw all the advertisements which have been published but admit cards not yet issued to candidates.
Stressing that “free and fair recruitment process is the bedrock for the development of any state,” Gopal said the state government was making all-out efforts to bring “systemic changes in the recruitment processes, which will transform the governance in the state in the years to come.”
The bill (for SSB) will be introduced in the forthcoming assembly session, and constitution of SSB will be decided thereafter, informed the CS.
“The state government is against any kind of illegal, irregular, out-of-turn appointments, and seeks to ensure utmost transparency in recruitment and appointment of candidates; therefore it has decided to constitute the SSB to recruit all Group C posts,” Gopal told the commissioners and secretaries.
“The decision to constitute the SSB has been made at the highest level to ensure that only the right, meritorious and deserving candidates are duly appointed by following transparent recruitment procedure,” he added. (PRO to CS)
