ITANAGAR, Sep 2: The Gauhati High Court has passed an interim order suspending the order which had been issued by the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) discharging casual paid labourers (CPL) of the organization who have crossed 50 years of age.
Apprising the defence ministry’s secretary of the court’s order, the BRO Labours Union appealed to the secretary to reinstate the discharged CPLs who had been working in various road projects under the BRO.
The union said the BRO director general had on 7 August issued an order to discharge CPLs who have crossed the age bar, stating that the age of the casual paid labourers, as per the rule, should be between 18 to 50 years.
