ITANAGAR, Sep 11: A state level advocacy workshop on skilling activities was held under the aegis of the National Skill Development Agency (NSDA) in collaboration with the Arunachal Skill Development Mission, at the state banquet hall here on Tuesday.
Resource persons from the National Skill Development Corporation spoke on the skilling initiatives by the MSDE, functions of the NSDA, the role of the state, inclusion of state-specific job roles in the PMKVY, and other themes.
They made PowerPoint presentations on various facets of skill development activities.
SSC representatives Sahsh Kumar and Pinaki Sankar Deb also participated in the deliberation, and requested the NSDA to work with them in close coordination.
Earlier, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship Director Subu Tabin told the participants that skill development was “a flagship programme on a mission mode” that catered to every individual of the state.
He said skilling the youths of the state in various trades in order to make them employable was one of the primary objectives of his department, and urged the participants from ITIs to take full advantage of the workshop.
The director made a PowerPoint presentation, throwing light on the initiatives undertaken by the state government vis-à-vis skill development.
Underscoring the importance of skill development among the youths, Tabin highlighted the overall scenario of skill development activities in the country and the state.
Principals, instructors, group instructors, ITI trainees, and local NGO members attended the workshop. (DIPR)
