ITANAGAR, Sep 17: Claiming that the names of 13 electors have been illegally transferred to the Toba village/gram panchayat segment from the Nyolo-1 GP segment through forged signatures and thumb impressions and without the electors’ consent, the Nyolo, Toba Gram Panchayat Segment Anti-Corruption Peoples’ Forum has requested the state election commission (SEC) to revoke the illegal inclusions within a week and initiate legal action against the culprit(s) involved.
In a representation to the SEC, the forum on Tuesday said the act of transferring the voters’ names was in total violation of the Arunachal Pradesh Panchayati Raj Act, 1997.
It claimed that six additional voters were illegally included in the voters’ list using fake birth certificates and election identity cards. The forum also claimed that the names of the electors were included in the voters’ list without conducting any public hearing.
