ITANAGAR, Nov 20: A three-month residential training in hospitality for the last batch of 2019, organized by the Don Bosco Youth Centre (DBYC) for school dropout youths, concluded here on Wednesday.
All the selected dropout youths of the batch were placed into job in the hospitality industry in Kerala and Pondicherry.
Speaking at the valedictory function, DBYC director Fr Cyriac congratulated the trainees and hoped that they continue with the same spirit. He requested them to keep in touch with the DBYC and the trainers and to take time out to join the periodic post-placement evaluations DBYC conducts on a regular basis. He also advised them not to miss out the annual evaluation cum training, which is a key post-placement support for the trainees, due to take place in the first week of January 2020 at Kuravilangad, Kerala.
Fr Cyriac further informed that the trainees will work in Kerala in front office management, housekeeping and food and beverage service in four star to five-star category resorts and hotels as on-job trainees for six months and then work for a minimum of six months as staff in the same resort or another as identified and recommended by DBYC.
“During the on-job training period the trainees will earn a minimum of rupees eight thousand after food and accommodation and stay in the campus. Thereafter, they will be absorbed as temporary employees for yet another six months and then as regular employees with all benefits including provident fund and substantial increment in pay,” he said.
