RUKSIN, Sep 11: A team of young artistes from Karpung Karduk Folk Music Academy of Arunachal Pradesh, led by National Awardee Delong Padung participated in the Cultural Symposium of North East India, which concluded at Tura of West Garo Hills in Meghalaya on Sunday.
The three-day cultural event, organized by New Delhi based ‘Gandhi Smriti and Darshan Samiti’, included presentation of traditional culture by various tribal groups of Northeastern states.
The Arunachal team during their presentation sang a “lullaby Yo:yo Ga:ga” for all the children of the world.
Yo:yo Ga:ga is a talk in the mythology of Adi tribe, meaning first human being (Abo Tani) on the earth.
It is said that ‘Do:nyi-A:ji’ is the common ancestor of the Tani group of people in particular and of all human beings on the earth in general. The presentation depicted worries and pain of the mother of million children Pedong Naa:ne singing lullaby by three spiritual personalities, Paari Bingu,Totel Mone and Dudeng-Mone.
