ITANAGAR, Oct 3: BD Mishra, a Retired brigadier was sworn-in as the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh in the Darbar Hall of Raj Bhavan on Tuesday.
Chief Justice of Gauhati High Court Justice Ajit Singh administered the Oath of Office.
The swearing-in ceremony was followed by State Guard of Honour presented by Arunachal Pradesh Police at Raj Bhavan, Itanagar.
State’s First Lady Neelam Mishra, Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, Union Minister of State (Home) Kiren Rijiju, Speaker of Arunachal Pradesh State Legislative Assembly Er. TN Thongdok, Parliamentary Secretaries, Members of Legislative Assembly, Chief Secretary Shakuntala Gamlin, senior officers, public leaders also attended the function.
Earlier, on his arrival at Itanagar, State reception was accorded to Mishra at Raj Bhavan helipad.
A Guard of Honour by Arunachal Pradesh Police was presented to the Governor designate. At Raj Bhawan, Mishra was received by officers and staff of Raj Bhawan led by Secretary to Governor Vinod P Kavle. A Guard of Honour by Indo Tibetan Border Police platoon was also presented to the Governor.
