The students of National Institute of Technology (NIT), the Arunachal’s premier technical education institute are up in arm against the college authorities. For the last two days the students are staging protest at Jote campus of NIT. They are demanding basic amenities and have alleged that college authorities are depriving them of all the facilities that a student of prestigious institute like NIT is supposed to get. This is a sad event and authorities need to intervene for the sake of students. The Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) should immediately look into the matter.
The state government should also play their part and try to diffuse the situation. Especially state government should try to improve the condition of Itanagar to Jote road. Also the MHRD should immediately send representative to the NIT and try to end the impasse. The students are not demanding anything big. They are only appealing for basic amenities which can be provided to them if authorities make sincere effort. The NIT authorities and MHRD are playing with the future of student by creating an atmosphere of uncertainty. Also the mess at NIT Jote is harming the image of state. But it seems like state govt is least worried and is simply refusing to even listen to the grievances of students.
