BRO need to pull up socks

Chief Minister Pema Khandu deserves appreciation for pulling up Border Roads Organization (BRO) for delay in construction of Bhalukpong to Bomdila road. BRO has been extending the date of completion year after year. The Balipara-Charduar-Tawang stretch, popularly known as BCT road is an important stretch of road in terms of national importance. There is massive military presence in Bomdila-Tawang sector. The army is totally dependent on BCT road and has been pushing hard for early completion of the said project.
BRO is engaged in construction of this critical road. Also they are taking up several other important road projects in the border areas. But their performance graph is going down with each passing year. Allegation of corruption, poor quality work and inordinate delay in completion of project is hurting the image of BRO. Situation is so bad that CM Pema Khandu has been left with no choice but to publicly criticize them for delaying Bhalukpong to Bomdila road. During the initial year BRO played an important role in improving road connectivity in the state. People of Arunachal truly appreciated their contribution. But unfortunately situation has changed for worse. BRO need to pull up sock and work hard to regain the trust of the people. They should speed up the pending projects and finish it as soon as possible.
