Dear Editor,
Through your esteem daily, I would like to share my concern regarding the ban on distance education in engineering.
What is our state government’s take on this law? Because if we scrutinize the engineering wing of the state government, then we will find many engineers who have been promoted with a distance engineering degree. So, it is very confusing whether such distance degree is valid because many young people from our state are going for distance education inspired by such success stories. Also many engineering colleges in Assam are running without AICTE approval but engineering degree certificates from such colleges are valid in our state. Where is our state going now? As if the backdoor entry wasn’t enough, the unqualified people are also getting into department.
