Increase upper age limit

Dear Editor,
I being the one of the rejected candidates for the post of Assistant Professor conducted by the APPSC would like to request and highlight the trend of recruitment in our state. Please introduce online system to fill the application form in order to end the form rejection culture in our state so that the deserving and competent candidates is not left out from the valuable interview.
In recently conducted interview for the post of Assistant Professor, 15 candidates were rejected in education subject for being over aged or for minor reasons. Most of the rejected candidates are Ph.D holders. To complete Ph.D degree, it takes 5 years due to academic formalities of universities. The present upper age limit for Assistant Professor post is 28 years but we spent our valuable time in doing research as it takes at least 5 years to complete the Ph.D work. For the post of Assistant Professor, other north eastern states have kept the upper age limit to 40 years. Our state govt. should also follow the norms adopted by other states.
If state Govt wants to realize their ambitious of ‘sabka sath sabka vikash’ they should increase the upper age limit like other states of India. And if govt. listen to the voice of the rich and employed sections of the society then they are also supposed to entertain the voice of the poor and unemployed. This view represents the wishes and aspirations of thousands of unemployed youth of the state.
As you are aware that state Govt. has enhanced the state Govt. employs’ retirement age from 58 to 60 which directly or indirectly lead to delay in creation of posts for unemployed candidates of states. In order to ease the unemployment problems, state Govt. should not extend service age upto 60 years.
Yours,
Aspirant
