ITANAGAR, Jan 10: The Arunachal Hindi Sansthan (AHS) observed Vishwa Hindi Diwas by organizing a workshop to promote Hindi language in the state and nation here on Wednesday.
Around 50 students from various schools and colleges participated in the programme.
AHS Chairman Takam Sonia spoke about the importance of Hindi language and its scope in various fields.
Informing that World Hindi Day has been celebrated every year on 10 January, Sonia said there are 130 universities in the world, where Hindi has been included as one of the subjects in their courses. The AHS Chairman also said that Hindi is the third most spoken language in the world.
He also made an announcement that AHS will start various courses in Hindi to promote the language.
