Cleanliness drive marks Tomo Riba’s death anniv

NAHARLAGUN, Feb 17: The Galo Students’ Union Rajiv Gandhi University (GSURGU) under the aegis of the Galo Peoples’ Front conducted a cleanliness drive at the Tomo Riba Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (TRIHMS) here on Friday to commemorate the 18th death anniversary of former chief minister Tomo Riba.
Over 70 students from the two organisations participated in the cleanliness drive, encouraged by GPF president Nyadar Loya, GSURGU president Kenli Basar and general secretary Yage Riram.
The cleaning drive was organised as a mark of respect to the memory of Riba, while promoting cleanliness.
Interacting with the volunteers, Chief Medical Superintendent Dr Hage Ambing and Deputy Chief Medical Superintendent Dr T Taki hailed the initiative, saying it would encourage others in keeping the hospital’s premises neat and clean.
The organizers acknowledged the support extended by the Itanagar Municipal Corporation, particularly its CMEO Olik Tarin, and Assistant Engineer Nabam Soni for the drive.
