ZIRO, Feb 25: A daylong special outreach programme on health and family welfare programme on the theme, ‘Mission Parivar Vikash, MI, Leprosy and TB’ was organized by the Directorate of Field Publicity, GoI, Ziro unit at Dutta village on Saturday.
The outreach programme was conducted in close coordination with the district medical officer and DTC Ziro.
The awareness campaign started with a public rally, healthy baby show competition and cultural show by local artists.
In a follow-up public meeting, Diibo Block ZPM, Bamin Siri appealed to the participants to avail health schemes sponsored by the government and appreciated the department for conducting such informative programmes.
Speaking as resource person, Ziro DRCHO Dr D Likar disseminated basic information about Mission Indradhanush, Mission Parivar Vikas and also highlighted the scheme on Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matriva Abhiyan. He suggested pregnant women to ensure Antenatal check-up during pregnancy and to get their names registered in the district hospital and health centres to avail facilities.
Resource person Tasso Nama briefed on tuberculosis and its treatment. He informed that the government is facilitating free diagnosis with full course treatment of patients with tuberculosis. He also urged patients to complete the TB course, and maintain a balanced diet with regular exercise.
