ITANAGAR, Mar 16: The Doimukh Students’ Union (DSU) has in a representation to the Yupia Deputy Commissioner recently sought immediate shifting of a stone crusher unit presently established at Midpu near Police check gate which it alleged had been illegally established by violating norms.
The students’ union claimed that the said stone crusher unit has been established very close to human settlement causing much environmental pollution which could have adverse affect on the health of the locals. It informed that the stone crusher unit is surrounded by private residences, church, education institution, state highway and the Pare River.
“As per the environment guidelines stone crushing units should be established away from human settlement. On what grounds did the authorities allowed establishment of the stone crusher unit in the said place”, the union sought to know and demanded legal action against the license issue authority.
