Bandh culture is out-dated

The decision of All Arunachal Pradesh Youth Forum (AAPYF) to defer its proposed 36 hours capital bandh on Monday has given sigh of relief to the people of capital complex. It’s unfortunate that unions and associations resort to bandh call to press for its demand. The worst sufferers are citizens especially the poor and downtrodden. During bandh the daily wage earners are severely affected. Therefore unions and associations should use other means to meet their demands.
Infact across the world people have stopped using bandh as a tool. It is an out-dated method. Hunger strike, dharna and rallies are more effective in today’s world. In Arunachal too students effectively fought against faulty recruitment process by using hunger strike and dharna. Also the bandh culture is biggest threat to development of any state. It causes massive economic losses. States like West Bengal which was once the most prosperous state has suffered a lot due to bandh culture. Today it is way behind and is still catching up with more developed states. The NGOs and pressure groups operating in the state should put an end to bandh culture. They are only working against state by continuing this menace. Also the people of state in particularly the citizens of capital complex should not support bandh calls.
