PASIGHAT, Mar 18: The Students’ United Movement of All Arunachal, East Siang District (SUMAA-ESD) has appealed to the deputy commissioner to take action against outside people without Inner Line Permits (ILPs) in the district.
It also requested the DC to take action against those giving shelter to people without ILPs.
During its recent visit to the private schools within Pasighat town under “District Crime Control and Civil Policing”, an initiative of the district administration, the SUMAA-ESD claimed to have found that nearly a hundred people from outside, including teachers, clerical and other staff have been staying in the town for the last few years without ILP, in violation of the Bengal Eastern Frontier Regulation Act, 1873.
Alleging that persons without ILPs are also given shelter by locals and their local guardians, the SUMAA unit appealed to the general public not to give shelter to outsiders without ILP.
