PASIGHAT, Apr 13: The vice principal of Jawaharlal Nehru College (JNC) here, Dr SD Choudhury, advised students to “remain focused on job challenges and think out of the box” in order to succeed in life.
Addressing the participants of an entrepreneurship development programme organised by the Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC) of the college’s Commerce department on Thursday, Dr Choudhury dwelt on how successful enterprises like OYO Rooms, Paytm, BillDesk, Google, etc, were developed because their creators dared to think differently.
Retired IAF group captain Mohonto Panging, who is also a leading entrepreneur, shared his entrepreneurial experience and advised the trainees to be passionate in their studies as well as in their entrepreneurship careers “to create more and more products by utilizing local resources.”
Diganta Deb from Sai Enterprises, which manufactures the popular mineral water brand Zalle, said “entrepreneurs are job creators and contribute to the economy in many directions.
Chief coordinator of the EDC, Dr DP Panda and Assistant Professor Nang Rasami Thamoung informed that the programme was aimed at creating awareness among students about the various facets of entrepreneurship as an alternative career option.
Dr P Raja from the College of Horticulture and Forestry here spoke about commercial mushroom farming and demonstrated how different varieties of mushroom are produced, preserved and marketed.
Assistant Professors Dr Minam Yomso, Liha Mena and Sodiong Kri also spoke.
