AALO, May 20: Tax & Excise Minister Jarkar Gamlin inspected the fire accident area in New Market here on Saturday and provided relief assistance to the victim families from his personal means.
On 16 May, a massive fire in the area had gutted down an entire complex of 21 rented rooms, three godowns, three blacksmith shops, and a grocery store.
Interacting with the families, Gamlin appealed to them to coordinate with the market committee to frame out a better plan to avoid such unfortunate events in the future.
“Lack of awareness, poor town planning, and negligence are the key factors for such catastrophe,” he said.
The West Siang DDMO also called for strong resolution from the community to avert such eventualities in the future.
