ITANAGAR, Jun 9: “Arunachal is blessed to have its indigenous culture intact, and we should preserve our culture because no one from outside will shoulder the responsibility,” Chief Minister Pema Khandu said.
He was addressing the gathering after attending a prayer service at Donyi Polo Gangging here on Saturday.
Pema said the state government would always be proactive towards the preservation of the indigenous culture, and assured to provide fund for building a multistoried cultural building in the premises of the gangging.
Earlier, on his arrival, the CM performed the ‘taku tabat’ ritual and offered prayers to almighty Donyi Polo for peace and prosperity of mankind.
State BJP president Tapir Gao, Health Minister Alo Libang, Power Minister Tamiyo Taga, and Parliamentary Secretaries Gum Tayeng, Tatung Jamoh, Kaling Moyong, Lombo Tayeng, and Olom Panyang were also present on the occasion.
On the same day, the chief minister also visited Rama Krishna Mission Hospital here and interacted with the patients. He met the swamijis looking after the management of the hospital, and enquired about the facilities in the hospital.
Pema assured to provide support to the hospital for constructing a new three-storied OPD building with all the facilities for essential and emergency services. (CMO)
