BOMDILA, Jun 19: The three-day observance of ‘Rice Day’ by the West Kameng district administration and stakeholder departments saw large participation on the first day on Tuesday.
The concept of ‘Rice Day’ was envisaged by DC Sonal Swaroop in a meeting on 11 June in order to improve Aadhaar seeding of AAY/PHH ration cards in the district.
Over the three days, cooperation of the fair price shop (FPS) dealers in each circle will be sought for collection of Aadhaar card numbers from the AAY/PHH ration card holders.
Administrative officers, FPS owners, gaon burahs and former panchayat members have played a vital role in disseminating information regarding the need to submit Aadhaar card numbers prior to collection of AAY/PHH food grains from the FPS’.
If the trend continues, the Aadhaar seeding of ration cards in the district may touch around 70 percent by the third day. (DIPRO)
