KHONSA, Jul 1: The National Institute of Open Schooling’s (NIOS) 12-day diploma in elementary education (DElEd) workshop at its study centre in the government higher secondary school here concluded on Sunday.
Addressing the valedictory function, Tirap Deputy Commissioner PN Thungon urged the teachers to rededicate themselves to their profession. Expressing concern over the lackadaisical attitude of the students, he urged the school’s Principal N Akhang, Vice Principal Sanwang Hosai and in-service teacher trainees to lay special emphasis on providing a healthy academic environment for the students.
He also emphasized the need of fair conduct of all forms of examinations, including those of the NIOS.
R Kumar (mathematics), Y Kena Hosai (English), Jyoti Panka (social science), and Winnyoak Mesia (EVS) were the resource persons of the training programme.
The DC also gave away the prizes to the winners of a literary competition held on the occasion of the 4th International Day of Yoga. The winners were Sunita Nath, Jitwang Kitnya, Ngunliam Wangsachia, Ngunham Gangsa, Liennya Lama, Dasang Pansa, Aishwarya Suman, Weiwang Wangsu, Tanwang Lowang, Tsering Tamang, Wanggo Socia, Dayashani Ghosh, Kamran Aran, Ananya Dutta, and Nacha Anna.
