The capital administration deserves a pat on the back for making campus of Tomo Riba Institute of Health and Medical Science (TRIHMS) free from all the illegal structures. Administration along with police carried out several eviction drives against illegal encroachers and finally on Wednesday they managed to demolish all the illegal structures. The administration has done their part and now it is duty of the TRIHMS authorities to protect the land. Proper boundary wall should be constructed as soon as possible to prevent any further encroachment. Also the citizens should support the medical college project and desist from encroaching the land belonging to TRIHMS.
Several other government lands have been encroached across the capital complex. The land grabber have not spared even educational and health institutions. The capital administration should carry out survey of all such encroachment cases and take step to reclaim the govt land. It may not be possible to repossess all the encroached land but every effort should be made to recover them. No one should be spared. All the people involved in encroachment of government land should be punished as per the law. If the government land is not protected now, then it will be left with no land for the future development. It’s time the capital administration makes sincere efforts like it has done in the case of TRIHMS to regain all the encroached land that belongs to government.
